10:15 AM MARCH
Panel Discussion / Q&A: 30th Birthday of Commodore Computers
Commodore in 1977 entered the computer business with the Pet. But the story of how it happened and how it evolved is truly legendary in the industry. Above all, the 30th birthday of Commodore's computer division is worth celebrating! This panel discussion features Chuck Peddle (via live videoconference) and Bil Herd, Bob Russell, and Dave Haynie. The discussion will include an audience Q&A session followed by autograph signings and maybe a few surprises.

VCF Shenanigans
In this edition of the VCF Shenanigans, Sellam will employ a Choose-Your-Own-Talk format, whereby the audience will decide the topics to be discussed. He might also perform cheap parlor tricks to amaze the crowd.

Diagnosing Vintage Computers 101
Bill will demonstrate how toggle switches and monitor commands were used to bootstrap a microcomputer, examine memory, and load computer programs, back in the day when geeks were geeks, and floppy disks were really floppy (and when, well, people still used floppy disks).

CP/M After 30 Years
A talk on the early years of CP/M and its history of development, subsequent ownership of CP/M, and some recent activity and interest. From about 1976 the CP/M operating system, from Dr. Gary Kildall as Digital Research Inc., became the dominant OS for Z80-based personal and business computers through the late 70's. MS-DOS's features in 1981 were designed to be CP/M compatible (but this is NOT a talk about legal issues). DRI products were important in the 1980's, and DR-DOS is still a product TODAY and still in use.
