The VCF Midwest 5.0 Marketplace

Saturday, September 18th, 2010
Heron Point Convention Center
Lombard, Illinois

The Vintage Computer Festival features the Vintage Computer Marketplace, the premier venue for selling your old or antique computers and computer related equipment. The Vintage Computer Festival strives to maintain a specific vending climate where only vintage computer items are allowed for sale. The following items are acceptable for vending at the VCF:

  • Computers or computer systems and terminals that are at least 10 years old
  • Peripherals and software for computers that are at least 10 years old
  • Parts including cases, racks, power supplies, electronic components, etc. for computers at least 10 years old
  • Data storage media suitable for computers at least 10 years old
  • Manuals, books, magazines and other literature for computers at least 10 years old
  • Video game systems that are at least 10 years old
  • Video game carthridges, cassettes, diskettes, etc. for video game systems that are at least 10 years old

The general criteria for products is that they must be computer or video game related items which were manufactured at least 10 years ago. Please note that this does not generally include generic x86 personal computers and related equipment. The VCF Marketplace is intended primarily for "vintage" (i.e. collectable) computers. If you are unsure about items you wish to sell at the VCF Marketplace, please inquire.

Because of the specific audience that the Vintage Computer Festival is targeting, this is a prime venue for marketing old computers, peripherals, manuals and software that are sitting in closets and back rooms collecting dust. The venue is indoors with ample lighting and each vendor space features an electrical hook-up.

Each space at the Vintage Computer Festival Marketplace measures 10' x 10' and features an electrical outlet and one 8' table. Please let us know how many tables and chairs you will need in advance of the event. Spaces are limited and are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so we suggest you make your reservations as far in advance as possible.

Consignment Sales

The VCF also maintains a consignment selling area. If you have something to sell that doesn't warrant renting an entire booth to do so, let the VCF sell it for you! There's no charge if it doesn't sell, but if it does we take 15% of the sale as a fee and the rest goes to you. There's no easier way to sell your old computer stuff.

Here's how it works: Come to VCF with your items and ask for the consignment area. From there you will fill out a simple form describing what you're selling and how much you want for it. We'll then put it out for sale and handle all the negotiating. You come back at the end of the day (5:00pm) on the last day of the VCF. If your item was sold, we give you your money minus the 15% consignment fee. If it didn't sell, you take your item back and there is no further obligation.

For your convenience, you can fill out the consignment information form in advance of the event. Download and print the form below, fill in the appropriate spaces, and bring the form with you to the VCF.
